Four men charged as interprovincial raids yield ‘kilograms’ of drugs, four guns

Four men face a long list of charges after a cross-border operation in Ottawa-Gatineau landed four firearms and a variety of drugs.

Police said warrants were executed Thursday in Ottawa in the 200 and 300 blocks of Wood Acres Grove in the Findlay Creek area and the 3000 block of Hawthorne Road in the Ramsayville area.

Simultaneously, police were raiding a residence in the 300 block of River Road in Chapeau, near Pembroke on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River.

Police said “kilogram quantities of cocaine,” as well as methamphetamine tablets and cannabis, were seized in the operations.

They also seized two “assault style” rifles, a shotgun and a handgun.

Trafficking paraphernalia including a hydraulic press, scales and packaging materials, as well as cash, were also seized.

Three Ottawa men, ranging in age from 29 to 33, were charged with trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. A 39-year-old Gatineau/Chapeau man is to appear in court at a future date on similar charges. to , w, All drugs seized are still to be analyzed by Health Canada.

The investigation is ongoing, police said, and more people could be charged.
