Two Mississauga men are facing charges, and more are excepted against an inmate at Collins Bay Institution, from Ontario Provincial Police and Kingston Police after officers intercepted a drone drop at the federal prison.
The men were found early Wednesday morning at roughly 3 a.m. after officers responded to a report of suspicious activity near the penitentiary, a news release from the OPP said.
Officers arrested the two men outside the prison and found the drone nearby. A package containing various contraband items was found inside the institution, police said.
Justin Paul Hurlbut, 35, and Michael Habib, 33, of Mississauga have been charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. They appeared in bail court in Kingston the same day.
Charges are pending against an inmate in the medium-security section of Collins Bay.
