Police Looking for Information after Stabbing in Brockville

Brockville Police state that a 29 year old Brockville man is in the hospital recovering from stab wounds after an altercation Saturday afternoon.

Police say the incident happened at the intersection of Broadway and Davison Avenues at approximately 4:30 that evening. Brockville Police received calls of a
disturbance. Police say two cars were stopped in the middle of the intersection and witnesses saw a male being beaten and knocked to the ground. Officers say witnesses came upon the scene believing it may have been a traffic collision interrupted the assault and the vehicles fled the scene.

The victim who was bleeding and holding his side made his way to a nearby residence on Davison Avenue where paramedics were called and transported the victim to
hospital. The man was treated for stab wounds to his mid-section and held in hospital, according to Brockville Police.

Investigators are asking for anyone with information or may have been in the area of the Youth Arena at Broadway and Davison Avenue between 4:15 and 4:30 that evening to contact the Brockville Police at 613-342-0127 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

UPDATED: Suspects sought in Brockville stabbing

A 29-year-old Brockville man is in hospital recovering from stab wounds after an assault late Saturday afternoon near the Centennial Youth Arena.

Police say they are looking for more than one suspect in the incident.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., Brockville Police got calls about a disturbance at the intersection of Broadway and Davison avenues.

Two cars were stopped in the middle of the intersection and witnesses saw a man being beaten and knocked to the ground, police reported Sunday.

Witnesses who came upon the scene thinking there might have been a traffic collision “interrupted the assault and the vehicles fled the scene,” police added in a media release.

“The victim who was bleeding and holding his side made his way to a nearby residence on Davison Avenue, where paramedics were called and transported the victim to hospital,” police added.

The man was treated for stab wounds to his mid-section and held in hospital, said police.

Police had no further details of the incident, including the condition of the victim, when contacted around noon Sunday.

But in a Facebook message to The Recorder and Times later Sunday, Staff. Sgt. Tom Fournier said police believe there was more than one assailant.

“We are not certain how many, but there is more than one suspect,” wrote Fournier.
