Police say accused started vehicle on tow truck

PRESCOTT – Provincial police arrested a 30-year-old Prescott resident on Monday afternoon after the accused reportedly started a vehicle while it was sitting on a tow truck.

Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to a dispute between the accused and a tow truck operator at about 1:30 p.m.
The tow company was assisting with snow removal on James Street East and had strapped a vehicle onto a flatbed when the accused allegedly got into the vehicle and started it, according to the OPP.
Police reportedly saw the running vehicle attached to the tow with the accused sitting in the driver’s seat. The person complied with a request to leave the vehicle.
Police learned the individual was the subject of an arrest warrant for failing to attend court on outstanding drug charges; the accused also reportedly owed money to the tow company.
