SEARCH WARRANTS EXECUTED AS PART OF TRADITIONAL ORGANIZED CRIME INVESTIGATION Additional Conspiracy to Commit Murder Charges Laid (TORONTO, ON) - A resident of Thornhill has been arrested and charged today with Conspiracy to Commit Murder after continuance of a Traditional Organized Crime (TOC) investigation. On September 25, 2019, police announced charges laid against residents of the Greater Toronto Area as an extension of the Project KRAKEN investigation into members of a street gang, led by Toronto Police Service (TPS). The OPP were asked to assist investigating a TOC cell. In June, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) assisted TPS with the execution of 45 search warrants across the Greater Toronto Area, resulting in the seizure of 23 crime guns. The investigation gleaned evidence for additional Conspiracy to Commit Murder charges. Alexander YIZHAK, 29 of Thornhill, has been arrested and charged today after members of TPS, OPP, and Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) executed an arrest warrant based on the evidence gathered through Project KRAKEN. The accused was held in custody upon arrest and is expected to appear at an Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Toronto in the future.
