OPP SEIZE LARGE QUANITIES OF COCAINE AND METHAMPHETAMINE

(OTTAWA, ON) – An Ottawa resident is facing numerous Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) charges after a drug trafficking investigation concludes.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) began this investigation in June 2022, after receiving information regarding drug trafficking activity in the Ottawa area.

On July 22, 2022, the OPP OCEB executed three search warrants at locations in Ottawa. Police seized significant quantities of controlled substances, including more than 12 kilograms of suspected cocaine, over 540 tablets of suspected MDMA, over 5,000 tablets of suspected oxycodone, nearly 650 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, more than 1,000 suspected methamphetamine tablets, 4,000 grams of a suspected cutting agent, ammunition, a cocaine press and US currency.

The approximate street value of the drugs seized is $500,000.

As a result, Jason DIZZELL, age 30 of Ottawa is charged with the following offences:

  •        Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I (Cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking – Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) section 5(2).
  •        Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I (Methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA section 5(2) – two counts
  •        Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I (Crystal Methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA section 5(2).
  •        Possession of Controlled Substance Schedule I (Oxycodone) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA section 5(2).
  •        Possession of Controlled Substance III (MDMA) for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA section 5(2).
  •        Possession of Property obtained by Crime over $5,000 Criminal Code – section 355.

The accused was held in custody upon arrest and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on July 25, 2022.
